Construction of gangplank and scaffold again

Today, is the last day for us to construct the gangplank and scaffold.
Because tomorrow we are going to construct our big dome for Monday xzbit.
For such a big project, we need to work hard together. Not only you are tired, all of us feel tired too. This is OUR project, we are same HUMAN!

111010, is the construction for the big dome. Although the first layer also not yet been built up, but I still eager and wish to see a 8m height dome been built up!! I hope every HBP first year student will work hard together to make our project success!

The Malay Worldview + Conference Paper

The Malay Worldview, by Mr. Mohamed Talhah Idrus from Planning. He said that, we must remain and practice our culture. Because from that, it will show our identity. 'The uniqueness in the culture is a 'Big Deal'"... Culture, implies a level (quality), belief and behaviour.




This round, in group of 5 of same major, we need to produce a 300 words abstract of paper on the topic given for respective major. My group members are Yenyen, Xinwen and Marhamah. Our topic is "Change shall not come from the existing system. The existing system shall crumble to make way for selfless cause". We started our discussion at 1230 after lunch in Tekun Cafe.

DYMAXION - is a very interesting and fun assignment that i like the most.

But it cost me a LOT!!

aih, nevermind lah.... as long as I satisfied and like this assignment the most!
and, this is the last assignment for RUS 101 and to be exhibited.
and I wish I can include this assignment into the 5 assignments I like the most.^^
and, I hope I can bring back this globe back to my hometown, Mukah Sarawak, as memorial.

All-USM BIG APEX LEAP DISCUSSION

4/10, we were having a talk about BIG (Bamboo Interest Group), which regarding the research on bamboo for the uses of our life. Some lecturers and prof were attending the talk, they are Prof. Fun Hoong Kun (Physics), Prof. Mohd. Asri Mohd. Nawi (Chemistry) and others. The speaker of the discussion is our Mr. WanB. After his talk, Mahram also gave her talk about how she undergoes changes after so many project being done.
After the talk was the Q&A session.
The first question been asked was from Prof. Fun Hoong Kun from Physics school. He asked about where can we get the supply of bamboo, the challenges that faced when cutting the bamboos, how long for the bamboo to grow to maturity and how big is the area the bamboo grow in Malaysia? The questions were answered by Mr. WanB. At first, the students cut the bamboo within the USM compound, but now can buy from the supplier outside. When chop down the bamboo, we may face the danger like meet the cobra or sting by the bees. It usually takes about 3-4 years to achieve maturity. The plantation of bamboo in Malaysia is about 10% of the forest.
The second question was asked by another lecturer. He asked about, how can this project contribute to APEX? Mr. WanB answered that, we just do whatever we can do. We must conscious with the nature now. We must save the world.
The 3rd question, what if 2012 happened something like earthquake instead of flood? Then, we can only do what we can do now, do something that is less corruptible.
The 4th question, can bamboo become a source of energy? The answer is nothing is impossible. We can do the research with the engineers.
The 5th question is, how long the bamboo will last if no preservation is done? The answer is 'need to carry out a research'.
The 6th question is, can bamboo play its role in medicine field? Bamboo can cure "Gila Babi".

BIG Dome

We are going to built a big dome which is 8m high. Quite excited and wonder whether it can be built or not. Really hope we can success because we were tired deal with the bamboo and the strut. Eventhough I only in charge of ONE strut. We got the bamboo which ready by our school in Rumpun Buluh.

Although it looks easy to do, but it really made all of us really very tired and made our body pain for few days. It was very difficult to fix the joint with the strut very very very tight. After the hard work, I really hope, eh...not hope, but WANT the dome can be built successfully.......... >.<
