Jewish Cemetery + Monument

21 September 2010
Went to Jewish Cemetery, Kubur kaum Yahudi
At komtar area.........
At Jalan Zainal Abidin...

What?! ...
Yes, this time we have to go to Jewish Cemetery to study the it and take pictures of it.
Wah!!! Last time, we have to design our casket, now have to visit cemetery... hmmm.....

In my observation, I saw that most of the tombstone has a six points star, which is called Star of David and with hands symbol, which is called Blessing with the hands.

The cemetery is taken care by the indian family. From the aunty there, she said there has 150 graves, which are belong to the soldiers, women and also kids. The graves are almost in roof shape. The oldest graves are in 1805 year and the newest graves are in 1976 year.

In 1895, the first Yahudi, Yehezkiel Menassah, was moved from Baghdad to Penang, Malaysia. After 30 years, Menassah was the only Yahudi in Penang. After 30 years, Menassah was the only Yahudi lived in Penang. Besides that, he also maintain the Yahudi festivals and the regulations of nutrition which known as Kosher (halal food in Yahudi version). After the 1st world war, more and more Yahudi moved to Malaysia. When 2nd world war, most of the Yahudi moved to Singapore. Until 1963, only 20 families stay in Malaysia. Until today, around 100 Yahudi still stay in Malaysia.

~~~~~My monument~~~~~
This is monument, HOURGLASS CLOCK....
I use hourglass clock as my monument because it will remind us that there is not much remaining time, therefore we must treasure the time.
Besides that,
I'll will write all my lifetime achievements and work and my thought on the pebbles inside.
~~~~~Characteristics and Structure of Bamboo~~~~~

Bamboo, can withstand a great deal of use without damage. It's is stronger even than oak, considered the most durable hardwood. When laminated, bamboo is nearly as strong as soft steel. Bamboo doesn't swell and shrink as hardwoods do, making it deal for furniture and floors.

Looking Forward

End of the world...
This topic has been discussion during my grandfather generation.
However, when is the real date??
Only God know when is it!

What is my future? Where is my future? Am I have future? How is my future? These questions always came out of my mind but I never think about it.
Now, is the time I have to think and plan it.

What can i contribute for 2012 disaster?

2012 is my graduate year, will that become the last year for my life???
I haven't earn money, travel around the world, achieve my dream!!!
Due to the assignments that related to disaster 2012, I just watched this movie. In my opinion of this movie, it is quite not logic. This is because, when this disaster come, although we have a big big ship, we also cant survive. We just assume tsunami is 2012 disaster, when tsunami come, every single things will be destroyed. This disaster is planned by God. Although how high tech is the technologies nowadays, we also cant fight against God. We cannot go against God will.

By the way, back to the topic, What can I contribute for 2012 disaster... ... ...
Firstly, I'll pray to the God, please calm us down, forgive our sins and take care of our afterlives.
Next, I before the disaster, I will make sure that the PONDOK and the IBU is built in stable and firm.

Looking Back

LIFE, is a mysterious thing. As people said, 'Life Brief Candle', we must appreciate our life that given by God and treasure it.
We don't know when will we leave this world.
Who knows, we will leave this world in the next morning. I'm the second in my family.
Since young, my mother always tell me that, we must appreciate what we have now, we don't know what will happen tomorrow.
She also always tell me that, you must study hard, so that you will have a better life in the future.
When I still small, I thought my family is rich, I always ask my mother to buy this and that. However, my mother also didn't buy for me. When I grew up, I just realized that, my family is not rich. From that time, I learnt to save money. At the same time, I learnt to be discipline.
First day when I came to USM, my parents were not accompany me. Even when I enter matriculation, my parents were not accompany me as well. However, I didn't blame them for that, because I know, they didn't afford to pay for the flight ticket to send me here.

Our first lecture was on 12 July. Although it was the first lecture, we were given an assignment, that is blog on the.
Before this, I never do blogging, this is a new thing for me. In our blog (My Virtual Home), we need to upload the progress for our assignments and every single lecture. We must always update it.

From the assignments I done before...
I learnt that no one can stand alone in our life. Like in university life, friendship, tolerances, cooperation, respect each other, and group work are the important element. University life is full of assignments, especially as a HBP student. My friend told me that, if university without assignment, it's not counted as university.

From the assignments I done before...
I learnt to be creative... ... making bamboo sounds tool using bamboos
... ... making masks with tissues, newspaper, and glue my whole face
I learnt to express my thought... ...because before this, i seldom think about myself
I learnt to draw and sketch lots and different types of drawing... ...sketch bamboo, fast sketching, draw human, sketch out the storyline, convo 2010 scene
I learnt to design... ... design my own casket, design my black box, design my disaster kit for 2012.
When I design for my own casket, my cousin said:"I like your lecturer, he is very CREATIVE!!!"
I learnt to built a 6 balloon black bamboo box...for this assignment, I'm sick of it, because I spent 3 days time to do it and finally been rejected. @@'....
My another rejected assignment is the dot and line.
When I redo my rejected assignment, I figured out the purpose of why the lectures reject it, because when we are working later, the possibility that the customers will reject our work is very high, so now we have to make use of it.
I learnt to plan an event... ...
I learnt to do a theatrett... ...
involve in a Youth Merdeka Countdown...
Besides that, a very new and interesting thing is CUTTING BAMBOO~~~~~
When I carried the bamboos and walked around the USM, so many eyes are looking at me and i feel so *****....

Sometimes I'm wondering, my major no need to do this kind of drawing and I didn't think of I need to do drawing and design. And sometimes, I'm wondering, am I an art student?

Although the assignments are making me tired and sometimes sick of it, but it gave me a good and sweet memories for my future. My others friends are envy with my creative and interesting assignments! ***

6A: Disaster Kit

Survival Kit on IBU.

2012 disaster!!! It's only left about 2 years time.

The inventions I used are:- Water-based Epoxy Foam,2004- A Innivative Agro-Based Ingredient-Pumpkin Flour as a New Generation Source of Fibre and Natural Colourant in Bakery Product, Bread,2007
- Heat Pump Assisted Clothes Dryer,2004
- Vehicle Monitoring System-The Surveillance System of the Future,2007
-
A NOVEL CATALYST FOR THE REMOVAL OF VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUND POLLUTANTS IN AIR STREAMS,2006
-
A Novel Nanofiltration Treatment System for Pesticides Contaminated Water-Enhancement of Water Treatment Plant,2007

My survival kit is made from the '
Water-based Epoxy Foam,2004' invention. I choose this invention because it is available commercially. The epoxy foam with the properties like rubber foam can be produced by changing the process and ingredients in the system without adding any rubber in the ingredient. The most important reason i use this invention is because it is sincere to nature. This invention only use the water in producing the foam.

My survival kit has 4 functions, that is, as clothes dryer, removal of volatile organic compound pollutants in air streams, water treatment system, and vehicle (PONDOK) monitoring system. I designed my survival kit in pyramid shape. Each side has one invention (function).

Since IBU acts as a Central Control, so it has to monitor the
activities and the location of each PONDOK. Therefore, I choose 'Vehicle Monitoring System-The Surveillance System of the Future,2007' as one of the function of my survival kit. Besides that, I choose the invention 'A NOVEL CATALYST FOR THE REMOVAL OF VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUND POLLUTANTS IN AIR STREAMS,2006' and 'A Novel Nanofiltration Treatment System for Pesticides Contaminated Water-Enhancement of Water Treatment Plant,2007'. This is because water and air is the most important factor for us to survive. We need clean air and water to stay healthy. After the air and the water is being filtered and undergoes treatment, it will automatic delivered the clean air and water to the PONDOK for the consumers. Moreover, I choose invention 'Heat Pump Assisted Clothes Dryer,2004' because during the disaster period, it is difficult for us to dry our clothes. With that invention, we can dry our clothes easily and faster.

During the disaster period, we also need food. Therefore, I choose the invention 'A Innivative Agro-Based Ingredient-Pumpkin Flour as a New Generation Source of Fibre and Natural Colourant in Bakery Product, Bread,2007'. This is because pumpkin is a good source of dietary fibres, resistant starch and natural colourant. Besides that, pumpkin flour has a longer shelf-life.
I placed my survival kit in the middle of the IBU so that it can be controlled and managed easily.
